Principal Fauna
Kanha National Park supports about 22 species of mammals in its central parkland and the adjoining plateaus. The density of Fauna in Kanha is so high that no other wildlife reserve can match the same
The animals that are found in Kanha National park are:

• Leopard
• Cheetal
• Wild dog
• Samber

And many more animals can be spotted over here. This park is the only habitat of the near extinct Barasingha and with a little luck you can even spot these. Spotting of animals in Kanha in their natural habitat involves a luck factor. Kanha being a Tiger Reserve one can spot tigers more regularly than in any other reserve in the country.
The best season to see wildlife is during the summers as water dries out elsewhere and animals gather in search of water around few remaining water sources. Many tourists every year visit this national park. The usual mode of sight seeing is jeep or trekking on elephants back.
